Left 4 Dead 2

Left 4 Dead 2 was a game that I was really looking forward to coming out. Not only was Left 4 Dead one of my favorite games but the sequel was suppose to start in my hometown of Savannah, GA. I was hopeful that some of the design in the levels would look like Savannah but I was disappointed to find out that it didn't. That however was the only place I was disappointed with this game.

There are five campaigns in this game. If you aren't familiar with the game the goal is for you and three friends to work from safe house to safe house, working your way through zombies to get to a rescue spot. There are several new twist in the sequel. First all the guns aren't always in one place. Sometimes in the safe room there are no guns on malay weapons. Which gets me to the second new part malay weapons. There are several malay weapons including guitar, baseball bat, frying pan, crowbar, sword, chainsaw and a couple of others.

The special infected are back and they brought friends. Now not only do you have to watch out for the Smoker, Hunter and Boomer but also the Spitter, Charger, and Jockey. Also the Witch is back but this time around she not always sitting down. Most of the time she is up and walking around making it harder to avoid her.

The versus mode from the first one is back and so is the survival mode. New to this one is a realism mode. In realism mode your teammates no longer glow so that you can see them through walls and neither does the ammo. Communication and staying together is even more important in this mode. Another new mode is Scavenger. This mode is very simular to versus only instead of working through the campain you and your team are trying to get as many gas tanks to the container before time runs out, while the other team in the infected trying to stop you. The team with the most gas can in wins the round and the game is best of three.

Overall this game is a blast. The secret to really enjoying this game is having friends to play through the campains with you. While playing with random people can be fun it's just not the same. There is some language in this game and also some blood splatter. Overall I would say this game is a buy. So find some friends and start killing some zombies.
