It's sad to say goodbye

freddy-tI know this isn't about gaming but hey this is my blog right?  A couple of weeks ago, while flying back to Savannah, I got a text for Dez telling me that the Jaguars had cut Fred Taylor.  Most of you that know me know that I'm a huge Jaguars fan.  The room that I record our podcast in is teal and gold with Jaguars stuff all around.  Also before I began doing this podcast I had done a Jaguars podcast for two years. I have been a season ticket holder for six years and am basically just a Jaguars nut.  So the news that they had cut our all time rusher and one of our best (if not the best) player of all time, hit me hard.  It wasn't like it was a big shock due to the fact that Taylor was getting older and was suppose to make 6 million next season, however I hoped they could workout a deal that would keep him here.  Taylor was drafted in 1998 and has been a big part of the team.  He has been a fan favorite and one of my favorite players over the years.

With all of this said it's hard to see one of your favorite players, who has been there a long time, leave and go play for another team.  This Friday if you haven't heard Fred Taylor signed with the New England Patriots.  To make it worse I heard it was for the league minimum.  I guess now with the combination of Rodney Harrison no longer going to be playing and Fred Taylor being on that team that the Pats will have to become my second favorite AFC team.  As much as I hate to see him leave, I would love to see Taylor get a ring, even if it is with another team.
